Non-Executive Directors (two posts)

Based in Derbyshire
Remuneration - £13,000 per annum (national framework rate) for minimum 4-5 days a month
Note - the Audit and Risk Committee Chair post attracts an additional annual allowance of £2,500

Derbyshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust provides mental health, learning disability and autism services across Derby and Derbyshire, alongside services for children and young people. We also offer a range of specialist services including substance misuse, gambling harms and eating disorders services. We are now seeking two new values-led Non Executive Directors to add to the skills and experiences of our diverse Board and our dedicated Council of Governors. We require someone who is comfortable engaging with staff and service users and supporting our role as a shaper of successful integrated care - working with partners across Derbyshire and the wider East Midlands to improve the lives of our population. We are a central partner in Derbyshire’s Integrated Care System ‘Joined up Care Derbyshire’, working to provide the best care and services as efficiently and effectively as possible. 

These new Non-Executive Directors will bring senior/board level experience in leadership and transformation with specific backgrounds in strategic finance and financial management. Desirable for both posts will be previous Non-Executive Director experience.

Post 1 - Audit and Risk Committee Chair

We are looking for our new Audit and Risk Committee Chair who will have a recognised financial qualification and excellent knowledge of audit committee practices. Their experience will be within large complex private or public sector organisations, ideally in a regulated industry.

Post 2 - Finance and Performance Committee Chair

We are looking for our new Finance and Performance Committee Chair with that broader commercial/operational experience within large complex organisations.

You will be an authentic collaborator and communicator who will quickly build credibility and create high aspiration in our dedicated staff, Governors, partners, service users, carers, and the diverse populations we serve. Promoting the highest standards of integrity and corporate governance you will offer informed and independent challenge as well as a high degree of support to our Board. 

This is a unique opportunity to use your skills help us deliver against our Strategic Priorities, focusing on ‘Productive’ but contributing in equal measure against the other core priorities of Patient Focused, Partnerships and People.

  • Stakeholder engagement sessions: 30 April 2025 – virtual
  • Panel Interview: 13 May 2025 – face to face at our Kingsway site in Derby
  • Proposed start dates: Post 1 – September/ October 2025, Post 2 – 1 July 2025
